Engineering for Architects – You’re not in this alone. Throughout our 35-year history, JDB Engineering has been working closely with architects, partnering to advance projects that bring clients back again and again. We view our role as being a valuable teammate, rolling up our sleeves and doing whatever it takes to get the project done – or even win the project in the first place! Architects bring us on board when there is something unique or different about a project – crazy schedule, alternative delivery process, advanced technologies – when they need an engineering firm that goes beyond the norm to solve challenging project issues. Architects look to us as a trusted team player – one which will help you lead the project, and not simply wait for direction.
JDB Engineering has been using Revit for Building Information Modeling (BIM) for almost a decade, cutting our teeth in the early days with a branch bank prototype and military hospital in the Middle East. Back then few manufacturers provided Revit details for mechanical and electrical equipment, so we often had to create our own. Today we truly believe in the power of BIM – so much so that when we work with architectural firms not designing in Revit, we often create simple architectural models in Revit in order to design in three dimensions. Like a recent bio-manufacturing project with clean rooms and lots of piping! And for those architects fluent in BIM, we integrate seamlessly with the model, providing a cohesive deliverable that avoids the all-to-common “prime-sub” issues on design projects. Wouldn’t it be great if you had in-house engineers? Now you do!
