JDB Engineering, Inc. (JDBE) announces that Scott D. Butcher, FSMPS, CPSM, Vice President, has been named a Fellow of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS).
The SMPS Fellows represent the highest level of experience and leadership in business development and marketing in the design and construction community. They serve as a resource at the chapter and national levels of SMPS, providing insight, ideas, programs, and mentoring for the benefit of the members and the Society. In addition, these individuals teach, write, and speak on marketing issues outside of SMPS, working to advance the profession of marketing professional services throughout the architectural, engineering, and construction industry.
Members who have been active in the Society for more than 10 years and who hold the Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) designation are invited to apply for the Fellows Recognition Program each winter. The applications are evaluated and voted on by a jury of Fellows appointed by the SMPS National Board of Directors.
Butcher was honored as a member of the 2011 Class of Fellows at the SMPS Awards Gala in Chicago, IL, on August 25, as a part of Build Business, the SMPS annual national conference, at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers.
Butcher has been a member of SMPS since 1992 and certified as a marketing professional since 1993. He also presented “Beyond Marketing: Developing Your Brand as a Leader in Your Firm & Community” at the Build Business conference in Chicago. He previously presented similar programs to the SMPS Central Pennsylvania and SMPS Arizona chapters, and the SMPS Southern Regional Conference in Houston.
