JDB Engineering vice presidents Thomas E. Leary, PE and Scott D. Butcher, FSMPS, CPSM, recently lead a program for the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The program was held at the York County Administrative Center – headquarters for the county government administration functions and home to 11 county agencies. The building was originally constructed in 1898 as a courthouse and was converted into offices in 2006. Upon completion, the project was recognized with two national awards and many local and regional awards, including the USGBC Central PA Chapter’s ‘Energy & Atmosphere’ Award. The York County Administrative Center was the first LEED project in the city – at any level – and was one of the region’s first LEED Certified history renovations and office building projects.
